0.5%-1.5%, ie, 5‰-15‰ of erythrocytes

Interpretation of results

↑ Hemolytic and acute posthemorrhagic anemias, supplementation after treatment (iron, folic acid, vitamin B12, erythropoiesis-stimulating agents, after hematopoietic stem cell transplant), after splenectomy

↓ Severe anemia due to decreased erythropoiesis in bone marrow, particularly aplastic anemias and aplastic crises in hemolytic anemias
