Compassionate acceptance and reflection of our efforts (CARE). Developed by the authors of this chapter, CARE is a 4-step activity that can be used at the end of one’s shift or day. Though it has not been studied itself, it is founded upon self-compassion and positive psychology literature as well as that around debriefing and social support. It can aid with processing and reframing negative thoughts as well as promoting gratitude and one’s mood.
