Research Interests

Professor Adachi has conducted clinical trials and published extensively on a wide variety of therapies for the prevention and treatment of corticosteroid-induced and postmenopausal osteoporosis. As a result of his expertise he has participated in the development of guidelines for the treatment of postmenopausal and corticosteroid-induced osteoporosis. Professor Adachi has been interested in non-invasive imaging of bone and cartilage. As a result of this interest he has participated in bone densitometry, peripheral CT and peripheral MRI as modalities for investigating bone and joint diseases. he has participated in the development of guidelines for the treatment of primary and corticosteroid-induced osteoporosis in Canada. Quality of life, the health economics of osteoporosis and adherence to therapy are other areas of interest.

Professor Adachi has published over 244 peer reviewed journal articles, 453 peer reviewed abstracts, 19 book chapters, and has had 519 peer reviewed presentations. He is a well recognized national and international speaker.
