Prof. Simon Oczkowski

Dr. Simon Oczkowski is a critical care clinician and an associate professor in the Department of Medicine and Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster University. He has postgraduate degrees in health research methods (McMaster University) and bioethics (University of Toronto). His clinical and research interests include end of life care and decision-making, organ donation, and patient and family engagement. He has published over 70 peer reviewed papers, many as first or senior author, on a wide variety of topics in critical care and end of life care. Dr. Oczkowski has provided methodological leadership for numerous clinical practice guidelines for the Society of Critical Care Medicine, European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, American Thoracic Society, European Respiratory Society, the European Society of Clinical Nutrition, and Canadian Blood Services. He is section editor for Critical Care, Palliative Care, and Procedures of the McMaster Textbook of Internal Medicine.
