Dr. Amit Kumar Kalwar

Dr. Amit Kumar Kalwar passed MBBS in 2001, worked as Junior Resident in the Department of Psychiatry for one year, and completed MD in Internal Medicine in 2007. He is presently working as Associate Professor, Department of Medicine, Silchar Medical College and is also in-charge of medicine ICU and Dialysis Unit.

He is the Scientific Secretary of Associations of Physicians of India (API), Assam Chapter, Silchar Branch and of Indian Medical Association (IMA), Cachar Branch. He is the Joint Secretary of API Assam Branch and East Zone API. He is the Executive Body member of IMA, State Chapter, Assam. He is the Convenor of North East Initiative Program of API, India. He is also a member of State AIDS Clinical Expert Panel of National AIDS Control Program of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India.

He is trained in Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Disaster Management. He is the co-principal investigator of different research projects of Medical Education Unit of Silchar Medical College. He is also the co-principal investigator in Population Based Stroke Registry under Indian Council of Medical Research. He is the editor and author in different medical books and published articles in journals as listed below:
