Prof. Jill Rudkowski

Dr. Jill Rudkowski obtained her MD from the University of Calgary (Alberta, Canada) in 1996. She completed residency training in Internal Medicine, Respirology, and Critical Care at McGill University (Montréal, Québec, Canada) after which she undertook a Post-doctoral Fellowship in Immunology with Dr. Barrett Rollins at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard University. Dr. Rudkowski joined the McMaster University Department of Medicine, Critical Care, in 2007. She is an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Head of Service of the Intensive Care Unit at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton. Dr. Rudkowski is an active member of a number of research teams focused on understanding and improving long-term outcomes of patients who survive critical illness. Her main role is that of a Clinician Educator. She was the Department of Medicine Undergraduate Program Director from 2012-2017, the Chair of Clerkship and Concept Integration and Review from 2017-2022, and recently completed 9 years as the Director of Student Advising for the DeGroote School of Medicine. Dr. Rudkowski was the inaugural Competency Committee Chair for the McMaster Postgraduate Medicine Critical Care program. Nationally, she is Assistant Secretary for the Committee for Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) and the Committee for Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME).
