Professor Romuald Krajewski is a neurosurgeon with extensive experience in the treatment of skull base tumors and head and neck cancer. In 1975 he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the Medical University of Warsaw. In 1980 he obtained the title of specialist in the field of neurosurgery. In 1982 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the surgical treatment of epilepsy caused by extensive brain damage. His habilitation dissertation was on surgical techniques used in diseases of the cerebellar angle and temporal bone. He received the degree of habilitated doctor in 1996 and title of professor in 2017. Professor Krajewski served as president of the Polish Society of Skull Base Surgery, vice-president of Supreme Medical Council in charge of professional development and continuing medical education activities, secretary of the Bioethics Appeal Committee at the Ministry of Health, president of the European Union of Specialist Doctors (UEMS), member of the Bioethics Committee of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He was also the Chairman of the Advisory Board at the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariffs (AOTMiT) and participated in multiple initiatives advocating evidence-based medicine and patient safety.
