Prof. Aleksander Kania

Dr. Kania is a specialist in internal medicine and pulmonary diseases. He holds the position of senior assistant in the Department of Pulmonology, II Chair of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Jagiellonian University Medical College, Krakow, Poland.

The treatment of sleep apnea and respiratory failure using non-invasive methods is a major area of professional interest to Dr. Kania.

He is a Chairman of Intensive Care and Rehabilitation Assembly of Polish Respiratory Society and a member of the scientific board of respiratory failure courses organized by Polish Respiratory Society.

He cooperates as an expert of The Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System.

He collaborated in the launch of the health care program entitled "National program for reducing mortality due to chronic lung diseases for 2016-2019: Non-invasive mechanical ventilation in hospitals" - POLVENT and in 2019 he received the distinction of the Minister of Health for his contribution to the development of non-invasive mechanical ventilation in Poland.

Since 2022 he has been a Secretary of Main Bord of Polish Respiratory Society.
