Prof. Michał Holecki

Prof. Holecki is an alumnus of Medical University of Silesia (2001). He is currently holding a position of a Head of Department of Internal Medicine, Autoimmune and Metabolic Diseases, Medical University of Silesia (Katowice, Poland), medical director of University Clinical Center of the Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, and is a former vice-Dean of the School of Health Science, Medical University of Silesia. He is the specialist in the field of Internal Medicine, Nephrology, Diabetology and European SCOPE Fellow. Prof. Holecki was a Representative of Young Investigators United Board from EASO's Middle Region (2010-2015), since 2015 is a member of OMTF (Obesity Management Task Force), and since 2021 he is a member of EFIM Multimorbidity Group. The research line of Prof. Holecki is focused on the study of influence of obesity and weight change on bone metabolism, obesity induced hypertension, chronic kidney failure and diabetes management. He is an author of more than 140 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and Polish National Guidelines concerning obesity in adults, urinary tract infections in adults and intra-hospital infections.
