Virginia L. Hood, MBBS, MPH, MACP, FRACP, FRCPE, a physician from Burlington, Vermont is a Professor of Medicine Emerita, University of Vermont and a nephrologist at University of Vermont Health Network. She is President Emerita of the American College of Physicians and President-elect of the International Society of Internal Medicine. She cares for patients with kidney stones, teaches medical students, residents and community physicians and makes presentations nationally and internationally on kidney disease, professionalism and high value care.

A medical graduate of the University of Sydney, she completed internal medicine and nephrology training in Sydney, Australia and received a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard School of Public Health, USA.
