Sharon L. Kolasinski, MD is Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. As Chief of the Division of Rheumatology at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Director for Rheumatology at the Penn Musculoskeletal Center, she is responsible for coordination of inpatient and outpatient rheumatology services, as well as meeting the diverse academic needs of learners across the spectrum of medical education. She has been an active volunteer for many years for the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and Rheumatology Research Foundation, including service and leadership on multiple committees. She has authored over 80 publications and contributed to 3 consecutive editions of the MKSAP for the American College of Physicians. She served as the principal investigator for the formulation of the new ACR/Arthritis Foundation Guideline for the Management of Osteoarthritis of the Hand, Hip and Knee. She recently completed a 3 year tenure as Chair of the Annual Meeting Planning Committee for the annual scientific meeting of the ACR. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the ACR Clinician Scholar Educator Award, ACR Distinguished Clinician Scholar Award, the Inspire Award of the American Medical Women’s Association, and ACR Master and has been elected to the Academy of Master Clinicians at Penn and as Fellow to the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
