Dr. Janet Record is a clinician-educator with a focus on curriculum development and teaching patient-centered care and communication, and physical diagnosis skills. She is Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, assistant professor in the Division of Hospital Medicine at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center in Baltimore, MD, and is co-president of the Society of Bedside Medicine. Her work in curriculum development has centered around contributing to the development and growth of the Aliki Curriculum, a patient-centered care curriculum for residents and students on the general medical service at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. In her work as Assistant Dean for UME, she helps oversee the 4-year MD curriculum, leading ongoing curriculum review and quality improvement efforts. She received her BA from Baylor University and her MD from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. She completed her internal medicine residency in the Johns Hopkins Bayview internal medicine residency program and served as a chief resident from 2007-2008.
