Prof. Azim Gangji

Dr. Azim Gangji is the Vice President of Education at St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton and Professor of Medicine at McMaster University. He is a nephrologist and transplant physician.
Dr. Gangji is involved in multiple areas in education as a prior Program Director of Nephrology and present AFC Director in Transplantation. He is actively involved at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada as the chair of several residency and Area of Focused Competence committees including being the chair of the AFC Accreditation Committee. He is also the co-chair of a large Academic Health Sciences and Hospitals Education Network in Ontario.
Dr. Gangji is also very involved in Global Health having established a kidney care program and hospital in Guyana to serve patients in financial need and in supporting the advancement of limited resource nations through training of physicians in his role as Chair of the St. Joseph’s International Outreach Program Academic Advisory Committee.
Dr. Gangji’s passion is in the area of learner advocacy, leadership and innovation in education.
