Prof. Vigrinia Hernández-Gea

Prof. Virginia Hernandez-Gea is a Consultant in Hepatology in the Liver Unit at Hospital Clínic de Barcelona-IDIBAPS. Her main research interest is portal hypertension and vascular, diseases and the contribution of the liver endothelium in liver diseases. She has more than 160 publications and funding for competitive national and international research projects. She is recipient of the Rising Star in Gastroenterology prize by the UEG (2020) and the EASL Young Investigator (Award 2019). Prof. Hernandez-Gea is part of the Scientific Committee member of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), Chair of the Vascular Liver Disease Group (VALDIG), Governing Board member of the European Reference Network (ERN) Rare-Liver, Baveno Scientific Advisory Board, Co-Chair of the International Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH) Subcommittee on Hemostatic Management of Patients with Liver Diseases, member of the Inspiring and Writing Group at EF CLIF. Regarding Editorial experience, Prof. Hernandez-Gea is currently Co-Editor for Journal Hepatology Reports.
