Blood Sample Collection for Blood Gas Analysis

Blood gas analysis is testing the arterial or arterialized capillary blood (the latter is less reliable) or less frequently venous blood or blood obtained during cardiac catheterization to assess the acid-base balance and gas exchange.

Indications: Diagnostics and monitoring of treatment in respiratory failure and acid-base disturbances.
