Levothyroxine in pregnant women with elevated TPO antibodies

Should every pregnant woman with elevated anti-thyroid peroxidase antibodies be treated with levothyroxine?

René Rodríguez-Gutiérrez: The answer for that is no. If the [patient’s TSH] is below 2.5 mIU/L and she has positive antibodies, you do not have to treat her. It is just when [her TSH] is above 2.5 mIU/L and below the reference range or with positive antibodies, then you may consider treating with levothyroxine.
