What patients are at the highest risk of developing Clostridium difficile infection?

Christine Lee: The individuals who are at higher risk for developing C difficile infection are elderly individuals, so over 65 years of age, and others who are immunocompromised due to either chemotherapy or an immunosuppressant because of autoimmune disease or chronic kidney disease. Those are at higher risk of developing C difficile infection.
