Recomendación: La ESGE sugiere que la vigilancia posterior a la polipectomía contemple una medición del tamaño del pólipo mediante un método estandarizado durante la valoración endoscópica o histopatológica [D/B].
Comentario: La vigilancia colonoscópica correcta depende en gran medida del tamaño del pólipo extirpado. Al estimar sus dimensiones, se debe intentar buscar patrones de referencia, por ejemplo el tamaño de las asas intestinales o de las pinzas de biopsia abiertas. Esto se aplica especialmente a los pólipos extirpados en fragmentos, ya que los pólipos extraídos en su totalidad se pueden medir en una valoración morfopatológica. Esto ayuda a evitar que se infravalore o sobrevalore el tamaño de los pólipos. Dentro de poco deberían implementarse facilidades tecnológicas que mejorarán la precisión de la medición.3
