Which common ear, nose, and throat (ENT) disorders may be the cause of chronic cough?

Imran Satia: We see that in our practice many patients with chronic cough are complaining of something called postnasal drip. This is a sensation which patients describe as feeling that something is dripping from the back of their nose onto their voice box and is triggering their cough. Many times we send patients to our ENT colleagues and they will see that there is dripping at the back of the nasal pharynx. These patients often improve with nasal steroids or nasal antihistamines.
