Should we perform ultrasound in patients with polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR)?

Bhaskar Dasgupta: We should do ultrasound in every patient with PMR. If you have abnormalities on ultrasound, like subdeltoid bursitis or bicipital tenosynovitis, it is very likely to be PMR or late-onset inflammatory arthritis, but it excludes malignancy; you will not get that abnormality.
