Session during MIRCIM 2024.
From May 8-10, 2025, the ICE Congress Centre will host the 10th anniversary edition of the McMaster International Review Conference of Internal Medicine (MIRCIM), a prestigious international educational event for physicians and trainees seeking evidence-based knowledge presented in an accessible way. The only McMaster-led event in Europe, it is a truly unique conference attracting doctors and medical students from dozens of countries thanks to the outstanding program and flawless execution.
MIRCIM 2025 features 11 sessions with over 60 internationally renowned speakers—including pioneers of groundbreaking research and authors of international clinical practice guidelines—presenting the latest advancements with practical tips in key areas of internal medicine.
The program is designed to highlight the most critical updates from different disciplines that are relevant for internists, hospitalists, trainees, as well as subspecialists who need to keep abreast of key medical developments. The goal is to equip participants with a firm understanding of the current medical landscape, which is the backbone for providing effective, holistic patient care.
A special session will be dedicated to the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in medicine, an area rapidly transforming health care. The European Health Data Space (EHDS), a flagship European Union initiative, will be introduced by Andrzej Ryś, MD, one of its co-creators and a long-time director at the European Commission. Jonny Hancox, a senior data scientist from NVIDIA, will discuss the latest AI solutions in health care.
The opening keynote lecture will be delivered by Gordon Guyatt, MD, Distinguished University Professor at McMaster University and one of the world’s most-cited living scientists who coined the term evidence-based medicine (EBM), which has shaped the modern clinical practice.
Among the special guests are Professor Isaac Opole, MD, PhD, President of the American College of Physicians, and Professor Virginia Hood, MD, President of the International Society of Internal Medicine.
MIRCIM 2025 will also host the grand finale of the international Young Talents in Internal Medicine World Contest, a prestigious case report competition for young physicians. And since the conference is held in Małopolska—a region renowned for its UNESCO World Heritage Sites like the Wieliczka salt mine—the attendees can look forward to unwinding after a full day of lectures by exploring Kraków’s many restaurants, museums, and cultural attractions.
The conference is organized by the Polish Institute for Evidence Based Medicine and McMaster University in collaboration with the Jagiellonian University Medical College, Regional Chamber of Physicians in Kraków, International Society of Internal Medicine, European Federation of Internal Medicine, and over 40 national societies of internal medicine worldwide. MIRCIM 2025 is proudly supported by the Małopolska Region and the City of Kraków.
MIRCIM 2025 has been granted the patronage of the Minister for European Union Affairs during the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2025.
