My worst nightmare: A case of granulomatous encephalitis

Stephanie Wang

A 74-year-old woman was admitted to the neurology department with a 2-week history of rapidly evolving cerebellar syndrome and nonspecific lesions on brain CT and MRI. After four months, she was readmitted for acute aphasia, dysarthria, ataxia, and right hemiparesis. New brain lesions were found on MRI and brain biopsy was needed to establish the diagnosis.
